Darren’s first starring theatre role was as Joseph in Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, a role which he reprised in the West End three times and toured internationally. His West End career also includes starring roles as Don in Summer Holiday; Danny in Grease and Tony in Copacabana. On tour, he has played Alfie in Alfie; Billy Bigelow in Carousel ; Pip in Great Expectations; Jesus in Godspell; FranknFurter in The Rocky Horror Show; Cornelius Hackle in Hello Dolly,  Khashoggi in We Will Rock You and Bob Wallace in White Christmas. He also played American author Paul Sheldon in an international production of Stephen King’s Misery, nominated for a Time Out theatre award and was nominated for Best Actor for his role as Gideon in the acclaimed London Production of The Last Session.

Darren’s varied roles as a television actor include Doctors;The Bill; Mile High and French and Saunders.He spent several months playing Hollyoaks soap villain Danny Houston and last year he guest starred in the ITV dramas True Crime and Holby City.He recently completed filming on his leading role in the new British feature film Rudy, due for release in 2016.

Darren has appeared on the bill of three Royal Variety Performances, once as host for the night. His prime-time television presenting includes You Bet! and Don’t Try This At Home.As a recording artist, Darren was signed to RCA where Simon Cowell produced his albums and the top twenty hit ‘Summer Holiday’.

In cabaret, Darren has performed worldwide and, as well as his musical songs and swing sets, he is especially renowned for his wide range of vocal impressions, a skill which he previously put to good use on the television satire,Spitting Image.
