About

Yoshihiro Tsujimoto is a renowned Japanese clarinetist and saxophonist. He joined the jazz entertainment band Calmerain 2010 and made his major label debut with Warner Music Japan in 2013. Since then, he's contributed music to various TV dramas and commercials, including Minami no Teiou ZERO and Kewpie’s "Yasai ga, gayaku."

In 2014, Tsujimoto became the leader of POLYPLUS, an instrumental jazz all-star group. Their debut album debut won the JAZZ JAPAN AWARD 2018 for "Album of the Year – New Star Division." He’s also worked on major soundtracks, including Confidence Man JP, Dr. Koto's Clinic, Your Lie in April, Love is Like After the Rain, and NHK’s Nukemairu.

Tsujimoto released his clarinet solo debut album Vermilion in 2021 to commercial success, topping jazz charts on iTunes, Amazon, Tower Records, and Disk Union. The title track was used as the theme for Kansai TV's Tateyama Seina’s CINEMA Concierge, and he later performed a solo show at Blue Note Tokyo.

In 2022, his track Tailwind -Hokaze-, written for Sapporo Beer’s “SORACHI1984” campaign, reached No.1 on the iTunes jazz charts. In 2023, he released Le temps du clarinet chocolat for LES TROIS CHOCOLATS PARIS, which also topped jazz charts.

In 2024, POLYPLUS composed the theme for Getters Iida’s Gosei Sanshin Fortune Telling 2024 and performed to over 14,000 people on the related nationwide tour. That October, Tsujimoto was awarded the Grand Prize in both the Player and Clarinet Player categories at the Japanese Musical Instrument Store Awards 2024.
