About

Laurianne Bordeleau-Mathis - also known as The Shark Lady - is a science communicator, naturalist, photographer and artist who has travelled in over 30 countries. With her background in arts and travelling experience, Laurie has gained a colourful view of the world around her, and she’s able to think outside of the box, giving valuable insight into various topics.

From a very early age, Laurianne has shown interest and an avid curiosity for the natural world, particularly marine life and flora. While knowledgeable in numerous topics, she is especially passionate about sharks, rays, chimaeras and conservation. Her curiosity for knowledge has driven her to learn on her own by reading various books and scientific works, therefore accumulating information to spread it around her vocally and through her art - which she uses to give her public a new vision on wildlife and our connection to the Earth.

She is a strong believer that knowledge is power; that education is a primordial element in solving the climate crisis and saving species from extinction. Today, she gives a voice to the voiceless by teaching us about their world and the crucial need to conserve what is left of our wilderness.
