Josephine Lonergan, Soprano, has performed in many operas, and opera excerpts, including performing the role of the Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute, for National Opera in 2021, under the direction of Australian baritone Peter Coleman-Wright. In concert she has appeared as a soloist with the Australian Chamber Orchestra under the auspices of the ACO Emerging Artist Programme, directed by Richard Tognetti.
Josephine performed the roles of Madam Firmin/Carlotta Giudicelli in the recent Australian tour of Phantom of the Opera starring Josh Piterman, at the Sydney Opera House and Arts Centre, Melbourne. The tour was produced by Cameron Mackintosh and Opera Australia, and broke box office records at the venues.
She has performed as a soloist with the company of the Phantom of the Opera on Channel Nine for Vision Australia’s Carols at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. In 2023 she joined Phantom colleague and West End Tenor, Paul Tabone, as a Guest Artist in his concert tour ‘Golden Days’, presenting popular songs and duets from the Golden Age of music theatre.
