Ichirin is a Japanese rakugo storyteller dedicated to bringing the traditional art of rakugo to audiences around the world through performances in English. Combining classical rakugo techniques with expressive character work, humor, and cultural insight, she creates performances that connect with audiences across language and cultural barriers.
Ichirin has a repertoire of more than 30 rakugo stories performed in English, along with approximately 25 classical stories in Japanese, making this uniquely Japanese art form accessible and entertaining for audiences worldwide.
Trained in classical rakugo, as well as in English rakugo, she combines precise timing, expressive delivery, and cultural nuance to create performances that resonate across language and cultural boundaries.
