Dr. Jim Jacobs is a geologist/naturalist, author, and science lecturer who brings Earth’s dramatic stories to life, from rising seas to volcanic eruptions. A PhD scientist and four-time Fulbright Senior Scholar, he has worked as an oil geologist in the Arctic, co-founded a successful environmental consulting firm, and served as an expert witness in 23 environmental court cases. He is currently a Research Fellow at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a Fellow of both the Geological Society of London and the National Ground Water Association. He has co-written five environmental science books.
