About

Currently living in Los Angeles, Douglas Ladnier is an EMMY® nominated songwriter, Broadway performer and critically-acclaimed, award-winning singer who has appeared in more than 65 countries around the world. He performed 11 roles in the original Broadway production of Jeky & Hyde and his solo concerts won the Backstage Bistro Award for Outstanding Vocalist in NYC where he appears regularly in concert at The Town Hall, 54 Below and Merkin Concert Hall. His newest show, DIAMONDS ~ The Greatest Hits of Neil Diamond will premiere June 10, 2025 at 54 Below in NYC.

The New York Times calls him simply, “the best,” and Rex Reed raves in the New York Observer, “This guy’s melting baritone could singlehandedly revive the art of the ballad, the love song and the heart-breaker.”

“There is no one who brings a more interesting presence to the stage,” according to the Times Square Chronicles. Whether he’s singing or swinging standards from the Great American Songbook, performing Broadway showstoppers, belting out pop and R&B hits or crooning a famous jazz or country tune, Douglas’ mesmerizing baritone, “richer than Fort Knox,” as Show Business Magazine declares, leaves audiences spellbound, on their feet and “in a state of euphoria” according to TalkinBroadway.com.

While his performances as Sweeney Todd have been thrilling audiences and critics from coast to coast, recently Douglas starred opposite Sally Struthers at the Laguna Playhouse and directed and starred in Into The Woods for Ojai Performing Arts Theater. Other favorite roles include The Fantasticks (El Gallo) Jesus Christ Superstar (Pontius Pilate), Aladdin (Jafar), Gigi (Gaston), Into The Woods (Cinderella’s Prince), Dracula (Dracula), Chess (Molokov), and Phantom (Count).
