Alexis earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of California, San Diego, and has since dedicated her career to wildlife conservation, animal care, and science communication. As a military spouse, she has had the opportunity to pursue her passion for conservation and animal sciences across various locations in the United States, gaining a diverse and well-rounded background. From researching estrogen receptors in rhinoceros to rehabilitating injured dolphins, Alexis has worked with a wide range of species, contributing to the preservation of both marine and terrestrial life.
She has held key roles in wildlife rehabilitation at respected organizations such as SeaWorld Rescue, Project Wildlife, and the South Carolina Aquarium, where she cared for and rehabilitated a variety of animals. Alexis is also proud to have contributed to groundbreaking research and conservation efforts with the San Diego Zoo’s Institute for Conservation Research, the National Marine Mammal Foundation, and California’s Oiled Wildlife Care Network. Driven by a deep passion for making science accessible, Alexis specializes in translating complex biological concepts into engaging, story-driven presentations.
